Myanmar film ‘Kankaung’ set to premiere in Thai theatres in April

The Myanmar film “Kankaung” (Lucky in English), produced by Khitara Film Production, is set to be screened in Thai theatres in April, according to Win Lwin Htet, the film’s director.
“Kankaung will be shown in Thailand. Fans will soon receive information about the theatres screening the film. I am unable to provide a precise schedule at this time. I would like to invite fans of Myanmar films in Thailand to join us. This movie is anticipated to participate in international film festivals and contests. We are authorized to screen in three nations, Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Thailand,” stated director Win Lwin Htet.
The novel “Kankaung” was written by Kyalsuthit, Moe Ni Lwin penned the script, and Win Lwin Htet directed the film. The movie features performances by renowned film stars, including Paing Takhon, clever canine co-star Kankaung, Academy Thu Htoo San, Academy Khinzachi Kyaw, Nay Htut, and many more.
In November 2023, “Kankaung” premiered in theatres across Myanmar, garnering significant interest from the audience during screenings. Theatres were permitted to screen it until the fourth week. — ASH/MKKS
