The ASEAN-China Workshop on Building Up Human Capital in Technology Transfer and Commercialization in progress yesterday in Yangon.

The ASEAN-China Workshop on Building Up Human Capital in Technology Transfer and Commercialization, jointly initiated by the ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN COSTI, the Ministry of Science and Technology, was held at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon on 9 and 10 May.
The workshop aims to build up human capital in technology transfer and commercialization for MSMEs through the ASEAN-China Cooperation Fund (ACCF) from the stage of lab results of universities and research institutions.
At the event, Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Minister Counsellor Dr Zheng Zhihong of the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar and ASEAN COSTI Chairman Dr Hul Seingheng made opening speeches, and Mr Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General for the ASEAN Economic Community, delivered the speech via a video clip.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers, the permanent secretary and directors-general of the Science and Technology Department, rectors, experts and representatives of ASEAN countries also attended the workshop.
The workshop discussed challenges and solutions encountered by the research organizations, MSMEs and universities in technology transfer, building up of human capital in technology transfer and market, measures to strengthen China and ASEAN cooperation in government and private sectors, human resource development network for startup ecosystem and technology transfer among research organizations, entrepreneurs and universities using the online system. — MNA/KTZH
