Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw met with Professor Yin Hejun, the Minister of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China yesterday. The meeting, held at the Wyndham Chongqing Yuelai Hotel in Chongqing, focused on science and the collaborative implementation of technology and innovation projects.
Afterward, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar’s Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperative technology and innovation procedures.
Pursuing endeavours related to the production of high-quality, safe, and nutritious high-value food technology and chemical technology innovation, as well as collaborating on research in metallurgy and materials science. Additionally, discussions were held regarding student and teacher exchanges.
The Union Minister visited the International Science Cooperation and Exchange Centre in Chongqing, including the Jinfeng Laboratory. In the evening, they also visited the Western Science City Intelligent Connected Vehicle Innovation Centre. Chongqing Mayor Hu Henghua hosted a dinner attended by the Union minister together with regional science and technology ministers. — MNA/KZW
