According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Myanmar embassy showcased the country’s products and handicrafts at the Ikebana International Fair 2023, held on 12 December at the Royal Park Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.
The Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo organized the exhibition, highlighting lacquerware, jewellery, silverware, jade ware, gold and silver embroideries, articles of Myanmar wood, silk and cotton garments, coffee products, and consumer goods of Myanmar wood using Japanese technology. Brochures featuring Myanmar’s natural landscapes and information were also handed out to visitors.
The embassies from Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South America also displayed their own cultural and traditional cuisines and items. Princess Takamado, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s wife, former Foreign Affairs Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi’s wife, and ambassadors and their spouses graced the event. — ASH/NT
