Myat Mawtin Pagoda platform expansion reaches 48% completion

The expansion and construction of the platform of Myat Mawtin Pagoda in Hainggyikyun, Ayeyawady Region, were completed 48 per cent and will be 100 per cent completed before the next pagoda festival season, according to U Kyaw Swa Win, the pagoda trustee.
The maintenance of the pagoda platform, the flag pole, the construction of the earth retaining wall, the pouring of concrete, the preparation of the stairs, and the building of the lake walls were underway. All the works are 48 per cent finished. It will be completed fully before the next pagoda festival season,” U Kyaw Swa Win said.
In addition, the pagoda’s entrance gate will be rebuilt, and the four corridors of the pagoda and the religious hall will be expanded to accommodate pilgrims.
The Myat Mawtin Buddha Festival is held every year from the 1st Waxing of Tabaung to the Full Moon of Tabaung. It will commence at the same time in 2024. — ASH/KZL
