Myanmar, Russia discuss media sector cooperation to strengthen bilateral ties

Myanmar and Russia engaged in a cordial and open discussion regarding cooperation in the media sector, aiming to foster friendship and cultural exchanges between the two nations. The meeting took place at Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) in Yangon.
Present at the meeting were MRTV Director-General U Ye Naing, MI Channel Director Daw Lein Maung Pan, The Global New Light of Myanmar’s General Manager U Win Zaw Htay, Chief Editor U Aungthu Ya, as well as First Deputy Director-General Mr Mikhail Gusman of Russia’s TASS news agency, and his delegation.
During the meeting, various topics were discussed, including information exchange between the two countries, opportunities for mutual study visits, the exchange programme for music and art troupes, and preparations for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding these matters. Additionally, arrangements were made to invite a Myanmar media delegation to the 120th anniversary celebration of the TASS news agency, scheduled to take place in September 2024 in Moscow. — MNA/TKO
