Myanmar-Russian armed forces exchange honorary medals for further cementing strategic partnership relations, military and civilian technological cooperation

Aimed at enhancing military and civilian technological cooperation, including strategic partnership relations between Myanmar and the Russian Federation, a ceremony to bilaterally confer medals between the two armed forces of both countries took place at Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Toe Yi read Notification No 64/2024 released on 27 March 2024 by the State Administration Council to confer honorary medals on dignitaries from the Russian Federation for their excellent performances in international military cooperation measures in order to build modern Tatmadaw.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented the Thiri Thihakyaw medal and insignia to Colonel Kurchenko Sergei Semyonovich, Captain 2nd rank Yashin Dmitry Valerievich and Captain 2nd rank Shilkov Vitaly Vasilyevich and Thiri Thurakyaw title to Colonel (Rtd) Saratov Sergei Nikolaevich, respectively.
Captain 2nd rank Yashin Dmitry Valerievich from the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation read Notification No 77 issued by the Russian Ministry of Defence on 17 January 2024 for conferring the international military cooperation development prowess medal and the fighting esprit de corps enhancement medal on senior military officers from Myanmar Tatmadaw for their excellent performance in international military cooperation measures.
Deputy Minister for Defence of the Russian Federation Colonel General Alexander Vasilievich Fomin presented the international military cooperation development prowess medal to the Senior General.
The Russian deputy minister also presented the international military cooperation development prowess medal to SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, General Mya Tun Oo, General Maung Maung Aye, Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Admiral Moe Aung and senior military officers individually.

The Russian Deputy Minister also presented the fighting esprit de Corps enhancement medal to General Tun Aung and senior military officers individually.
The Senior General and the Russian Deputy Minister for Defence cordially greeted each other.
Also present at the ceremony were senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Chairman of the Defence Ministry’s Public Council Mr Pavel Gusev of the Russian Federation, Military Attaché Colonel Kurchenko Sergei Semyonovich and Russian senior military officers. —MNA/TTA
