Myanmar showcases investment opportunities at 2023 ASEAN Investment Forum in Nanning, China

According to the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar delegates explained and discussed potential investment opportunities in Myanmar at the 2023 ASEAN Investment Forum.
The 2023 ASEAN Investment Forum was held at Guangxi Minzu University, located in Nanning City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the People’s Republic of China, on 24 November.
Myanmar delegates, led by Consul-General to Nanning U Kyaw Soe Thein and Commercial Attaché Daw Kay Khaing Kyaw, attended the event.
Rector Xie Shangguo of Guangxi Minzu University and President Ms Chen Youcui of Beijing-based Chongqing Business Association gave opening speeches at the forum.
Cambodian Consul-General Mr Taing Sokngorn, Lao Consul-General Mr Vongpano Sipaseuth, Myanmar Consul-General U Kyaw Soe Thein, Vietnamese Consul-General Mr Do Nam Trung, and the Director of Thai Economic Office Mr Xie Mingqiang presented investment opportunities in their respective countries.
U Kyaw Soe Thein explained current investment opportunities in Myanmar, businesses invested in Myanmar by China, how to invest in Myanmar, priority investment sectors in Myanmar, and benefits and privileges for foreign investors in Myanmar. He invited Chinese entrepreneurs to make investments in Myanmar at the forum.
Consul-General U Kyaw Soe Thein also informed potential Chinese investors that all the necessary assistance will be offered to those who want to engage in trade and investment sectors with Myanmar.
A total of more than 60 personnel, including consuls-general of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Viet Nam in Nanning, personnel from Guangxi Minzu University, commercial attaches, and members of the Chongqing Business Association based in Beijing and Tianjin cities, as well as the Chongqing Business Association in Hainan, Hebei, Jilin, and Liaoning provinces, participated in the forum. — ASH/TMT
