Myanmar traditional style paintings to enter world market and to bring out new generations

Contemporary Myanmar Traditional Artists Association is trying to grasp share of international market for Myanmar traditional style drawings and paintings, while it is also organizing the artists who consistently draw only the Myanmar traditional styles to help bring out new generation artists, according to the association’s chairperson Pachi Ko Shan Lay.
The association is trying to collect the artists who draw the Myanmar traditional styles consistently all over the country and to expend the network widely. The association is also going to offer drawing and painting courses, display the annual pictures shows and support the social and health affairs of the member artists.
The chairperson said, “Now, we have 37 members of artists from Yangon Region and we are also continuing to welcome and to invite the other members.”
The association has been established since last two decades as Myanmar Traditional Artists Association and it is organized with the famous veteran artists.
The artists who draw and paint with Myanmar traditional styles are rare in the current art industry. However, Myanmar traditional drawing and painting styles are popular among the foreign audiences. — ASH/TRKM
