Myanmar U-22 team to compete in SEA Games, int’l tourneys this year

The Myanmar U-22 team will compete in the SEA Games, Asian Games and other international tournaments this year, football officials stated.
The Myanmar U-22 team will compete in international competitions starting in May, and the first competition will be the 32nd Cambodia SEA Games.
The Myanmar U-22 team will compete in the 32nd SEA Games in May 2024 Asian Cup U-23 Qualifiers in September, the 19th Asian Games in October, and ASEAN U-22 Championship in December.
The 19th Asian Games were originally scheduled to be held in 2022, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they were postponed to 2023, the same year as the SEA Games.
Popov, the former head coach of the Myanmar U-22 team, parted ways in early December, leaving the position of head coach vacant, and the training camp will begin only after a new coach is appointed.
The Myanmar U-22 team will take time to prepare for success in the SEA Games. The team will also make pre-tournament international warm-ups. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
