Myanmar’s rubber, corn exports pocket US$14+ mln in October

Myanmar generated an earning of US$14.403 million from rubber and corn exports in October, the statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce indicated.
Myanmar’s seaborne trade saw over 5,300 tonnes of rubber exports worth $6.781 million in October, comprising over 4,130 tonnes to China, over 700 to India, over 260 to Malaysia and over 200 to the Republic of Korea and Myanmar conveyed 2,978 tonnes of rubber worth $3.655 million to China via the border, totalling 8,278 tonnes worth $10.436 million. The export volume of rubber was up by over 900 tonnes in October compared to that of September.
Additionally, Myanmar shipped over 8,900 tonnes of corn to the Philippines in October, with an estimated value of $2.348 million. Myanmar sent 5,920 tonnes to China and 96 tonnes to Thailand via the border points in October, reaching over 6,010 tonnes worth $1.619 million.
The corn exports amounted to $3.967 million from 14,910 tonnes in October, which is a decrease of over 4,000 tonnes compared to that of September. — TWA/KK
