The Myitkyina-Moekaung-Myitkyina train service in Kachin State will resume on 1 November, according to the Kachin State government.
Kachin State Prime Minister U Khet Htein Nan said at a work coordination meeting held on 24 October that the train service, which was suspended during the 2020 Covid-19 outbreak, will start operating again on 1 November.
From 1 to 7 November, travellers will be allowed to ride the train for free.
Since the outbreak of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, all train journeys on the Mandalay-Myitkyina Road have been suspended. — ASH/KZL
