The government is striving for the development of the nation by cementing the genuine, disciplined multiparty democratic system, building the Union based on a democratic system and federalism, adopting political, economic and social objectives such as prosperity and food security of the State, promoting of intelligence and technologies, health and fitness of entire people, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
A ceremony to confer honorary titles to mark the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day to relevant recipients took place at the SAC Chairman Office yesterday morning, attended by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing. In his speech, the Senior General stressed the need to especially emphasize nation-building endeavours and processes such as peace and stability of the whole Union, rule of law, promotion of State economy, enhancement of socioeconomic life of the entire people, and cementing genuine, disciplined multiparty democratic system.
In implementing the nation-building tasks, he continued to say that all stakeholders from relevant sectors are joining hands with officials from the main estates of the nation such as the State Administration Council and the Union government.
He outlined that honorary titles will be conferred on those recipients for their excellent performance and sacrifice of life and limbs for nation-building endeavours and serving State defence and security duties.
The Senior General revealed that at today’s ceremony, the Thray Sithu title will be conferred on nine recipients, the Sithu title on five, the Thura title on six, the Thiri Pyanchi title on 42, Wunna Kyaw Htin title on 83, Alinka Kyaw Swa title on four and Theikpa Kyaw Swa title on four, totalling 153.
On the occasion, the Senior General conferred the Thray Sithu title on four recipients, the Sithu title on three, the Thura title on six, the Thiri Pyanchi title on 16, the Wunna Kyaw Htin title on 58, the Alinka Kyaw Swa title on three and Theikpa Kyaw Swa title on four individually.
Also present at the ceremony were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the council secretary and wife, the joint secretary and wife, council members and their wives and State dignitaries. — MNA/TTA
