Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman donates offertories, foodstuffs to monasteries, nunneries

Rice, cooking oil, gram and salt donations to monasteries and nunneries are in progress in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee and departments concerned organized donation ceremonies of rice, cooking oil, gram and salt to the monasteries and nunneries in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area yesterday.
The ceremonies took place at Zabuthiri Hall of Nay Pyi Taw Council office, Sasana Pala Dhamma Yeiktha (Myeik) monastery in Zabuthiri Township and Thatta Thattaha “Pwint” Zedi Religious Hall in Pobbathiri Township.
The monks led by member of the Central Working Committee of the Sangha Presiding Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Vicakkhana of Aung Sitha Monastery in Pobbathiri Township attended the event at Zabuthiri Hall of Nay Pyi Taw Council office.
Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr Maung Maung Naing and invited guests donated the offertories including four basic foodstuffs to the monks and nuns.
Similarly, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and party also donated the offertories and foodstuffs to the monks and nuns at the donation ceremonies, which were held at Sasana Pala Dhamma Yeiktha (Myeik) monastery in Zabuthiri Township and Thatta Thattaha “Pwint” Zedi Religious Hall with attendance of Chair of Nay Pyi Taw Sangha Nayaka Committee Presiding Sayadaw of Shwe Inn Yeiktha Monastery of Tatkon Bhaddanta Pannasami. Officials donated a total of 484 bags of rice, 1,390 viss of cooking oil, 725 viss of beans and 725 viss of salt were donated to 269 monasteries and 11 nunneries in Nay Pyi Taw area. — MNA
