Nay Pyi Taw hosts 2023 International Youth Day commemoration

Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium Stadium B in Nay Pyi Taw was abuzz with the celebration of International Youth Day 2023 yesterday. U Min Thein Zan, Chairman of the Myanmar Youth Affairs Central Committee and Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, emphasized the theme “Let’s create a sustainable world with the power of youth”.
He urged the younger generation to collaborate and leverage their energy to expedite the journey towards sustainability. The ministry’s dedication to comprehensive youth development was underscored, emphasizing clear objectives and effective implementation.
Distinguished young men and women were honoured during the event, aligning with the mission to cultivate patriotic and principled individuals. Recognizing that this mission requires collective efforts across sectors, U Min Thein Zan stressed the importance of united endeavours in youth development activities.
U Zin Min Htet, Chairman of the Myanmar Youth Affairs Working Committee and Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs conveyed UN Secretary-General Mr Antonio Guterres’ message for International Youth Day. A video showcasing robust youth development activities was presented, echoing the significance of this occasion.
Union ministers presented awards and cash prizes to recipients, followed by a heartfelt expression of gratitude by an outstanding young individual on behalf of the youth community. — MNA/KZW
