Arrangements are being made to include Nay Pyi Taw in travel destinations for home-grown and oversea travellers, the Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism said at a meeting with hotels and tourism organizations, companies and relevant authorities on 26 January.

He also called for efforts to promote Nay Pyi Taw as a tourism destination as the city already has good transportation, accommodation and other tourism facilities.

In the meeting, participants discussed the current arrangements for pilgrims and other facilities that should be added, addressing possible difficulties, and plans to integrate other tourist attractions together with pilgrimage tours.

In 2023, local and foreign travellers visited 38 tourist destinations in Nay Pyi Taw such as four places in Ottarathiri, seven in Zeyathiri, six in Pobbathiri, four in Lewe, two in Dekkhinathiri, seven each in  Pyinmana and Zabuthiri townships as well as  other areas of Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee.
