Need to encourage literary arena and literati to create better works

Prize-winning works in the national literature award and Sarpay Beikman manuscripts award shape the nature and lifestyle of Myanmar people by giving deep thoughts on how to build the lives and how to overcome life challenges.
The manuscript contest of the Sarpay Beikman started its first step in 1955 and the National Literature Award in 1972 to select the best works in fiction and non-fiction genres. Selection boards of both contests chose the best works reflecting images of the people’s daily lifestyle.
Literati create the works of literature whether they submit the manuscripts to the selection committees of both contests with the aim of giving significant messages to the readers. In this regard, their messages may be raising public awareness about political, economic, social, etc.
The authors with critical thinking initiate the improvement of public lifestyle. Their literary works shape children’s future and persuade them into a better world through the arts of writing. Masterpieces of literature can shape youths’ lives to straighten the lives on wrong ways onto the right ones.
Whatever it may be, everybody should clearly accept a concept that only when the literary works actually serve the interests of the State and the people should these works be considered for award. It is the primary policy for prioritizing the State and the people. First, second and third winners are selected in various genres of the Sarpay Beikman Manuscript Ward and the National Literary Award.

As such, it is necessary to encourage writers to produce quality literature suitable for all ages of the people and provide assistance to doyen literati so as to create better literature works day by day.

In fact, both literature award contests are platforms for writers to present their opinion, creation, presentation and motivation. Hence, readers can enjoy various tastes of literature on the lifestyle of rural and urban people, natural beauties and ideological presentation.
Literature can help people’s dreams come true. It features various kinds of knowledge across the world to readers from all parts of the country as well as the world. So, it can be identified as a media linking between the writers and the readers.
As such, it is necessary to encourage writers to produce quality literature suitable for all ages of the people and provide assistance to doyen literati so as to create better literature works day by day.
