Nyaungdon/Maubin oilfield produces about 50 barrels of jet fuel, over 22 mln cubic feet of natural gas daily

According to the Ministry of Energy, about 50 barrels of jet fuel and more than 22 million cubic feet of natural gas are produced from the Nyaungdon/Maubin oilfield on a daily basis.
Oil for aircraft that is produced daily from 17 production wells in the gas field is transported to the Petrochemical Factory (Mann Thanbayakan Refinery), where fuel needed by the country is produced.
In addition, natural gas from the area is distributed to the fertilizer plants (Myaungtaga and Kangyidaunt), the liquefied natural gas plant (Nyaungdon), factories and workshops in Yangon Region, CNG vehicles in the public transport sector, and the reoperation of the Newsprint Paper Mill (Thaboung).
Drilling and testing operations for the No 20 well and oil and natural gas exploration activities will be carried out in the Phayagon area, according to the MoE. — TWA/CT
