Online passport booking to expand to 11 cities

According to the Myanmar Passport Office, the issuing of Myanmar passports through the online booking System will be extended to 11 cities.
Online Appointment System is currently available at Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Bago and Pathein Myanmar passport offices.
Starting on 2 May, the system will be implemented in 11 cities, including Myitkyina, Monywa, Lashio, Taunggyi, Lashio, Sittway, Haka, Hpa-an, Mawlamyine, Dawei and Magway.
Those who will apply for a passport can make an appointment starting 1 May.
All people from various states and regions can apply for passports online only at the Yangon office. In contrast, those who are on the Yangon Region household list can apply for passports through online booking at the Nay Pyi Taw branch. Still, the branches in the rest of the states and regions will only accept the relevant household members.
The Myanmar Passport Office also informed that passport applicants can check the website of the Passport Board at www.passport.gov.mm in order to choose the branches where their household is listed so as to make an appointment. — TWA/KZL
