Opening ceremony of 4th International Conference on Substantial Scientific Collaboration of Ocean and Earth Science between Myanmar and China (SSCOE – 2021) Ocean and Earth Science held at Dagon University

The Dagon University of Myanmar hosted “the 4th International Conference on Substantial Scientific Collaboration of Ocean and Earth Science between Myanmar and China (SSCOE-2021) Ocean and Earth Science” at the convocation hall of the university yesterday.
The conference is jointly organized by the universities of Myanmar, Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey, China Geological Survey, Ministry of Natural Resources, the People’s Republic of China, the Marine Science Institute University of the Philippines Diliman and Institute of Marine Environment and Resources, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
First, Deputy Minister for Education Dr Zaw Myint, on behalf of the Union Minister and Deputy Chief Geoscientist Dr Gaowen He of Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey, China Geological Survey, Ministry of Natural Resources, the People’s Republic of China delivered greeting speeches via video message.
Then, Yangon Region Social Affairs Minister U Aung Win Thein also remarked, while Rector of Dagon University Dr Thar Tun Maung expressed words of thanks and Dr Sone Han, President of Myanmar Geosciences Society clarified about geological issues.
The departmental officials concerned of the Higher Education Department and Rectors of universities also joined the conference via video conferencing.
The collaboration of the Ocean and Earth Science conference will be held online-offline (Hybrid) until today and the local and foreign experts will read a total of 156 papers on Geology. — MNA
