Over 1.4 million seedlings nurtured at Forest Department for public distribution in rainy season

The Department of Forest in Pathein, Ayeyawady Region, is nurturing seedlings for public distribution in the rainy season annually. This year, the department is planning to plant a total of 1,415,800 seedlings.
With the purpose of making the region green and beautiful, to help prevent environmental degradation, make local people aware of the benefits of forest trees, to increase access to firewood and forest products and improve the quality of natural forest, the saplings will be distributed to departments, the tree planting festivals, to the public, and the village firewood fields.
