Over 450 Myanmar labourers employed in Thailand under MoU arrangement

A total of 452 Myanmar workers were sent to Thailand via the Myawady-Mae Sot friendship bridge under the MoU system on 22 September. Those MoU workers were recruited by eight overseas employment agencies, including Grand Asia Force, Pyae Wa San, Shwe Myanmar Aung, Royal Four Sea, Myint Mo Chan Tha, Gold Silver Diamond, Pyae Paing Hmu and Shwe Labpwint agencies.
The Ministry of Labour has issued an announcement, stating that individuals planning to work abroad must sign an agreement to transfer 25 per cent of their earnings through official channels.
As of August, there are 477 overseas employment agencies licensed to provide foreign employment services and carry out legal procedures for sending workers abroad. Among them, 10 agencies are temporarily closed.
Furthermore, there are 158 licensed Thai agencies responsible for sending Myanmar workers to Thailand, eight agencies of which were currently temporarily closed. Additionally, 150 licensed Thai agencies are currently in operation. — TWA/KZW
