Over K1.46 billion worth of ecstasy tablets seized in Maungtaw Township

The police seized K1.46 billion worth of ecstasy tablets in Maungtaw Township, according to the police statement.
The combined inspection team consisting of No 1 border guard police members examined a motorbike driven by Hla Htun Sein heading to Kyeinchaung village from three miles near Kyiganpyin village, Maungtaw Township in Rakhine State at 11 am on 28 March and seized 975 ecstasy tablets.
According to the inspection, the combined inspection team inspected a house of Ma Tin Kyi in Thayaekonbaung village, Maungtaw Township and found Ma Tin Kyi with Khin Maung Oo, Khine Moe Lin, Maung Htwe Tin, Lay Myint Oo and Muhammad Shawhe and then seized 0.975 million ecstasy tablets and K900,000 with a three-wheel motorbike and two motorbikes.
Thus, a total seizure of 0.975 million stimulant tablets was worth K1.46 billion and the police are investigating to arrest further suspects. The action is taken against the arrestees under the Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substancs Law. — MNA
