Over K270 mln worth of stimulant tablets seized in Tatkon Township

Myanmar Police Force reported a seizure of K270 million worth of stimulant tablets at the checkpoint in Kintha village in Tatkon Township at noon on 16 February.
Acting on the tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and searched a vehicle Grand Mark II driven by Maung Maung, 65, and Htein Lin Aung, 24, onboard, which was driving en route from Pinlaung to Tatkon. Over 180,000 stimulant tablets with an estimated value of K270 million were confiscated.
At 4 pm on the same day, they arrested Kyaw Hla, 56, who was involved in the transportation of those tablets in Pinlaung Township. The tablets were reportedly conveyed to Sagaing Region from southern Shan State during an interrogation. They were prosecuted for drug-related offences under the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Law, Myanmar Police Force stated. — MNA
