Plans to publish Atthakatha treatises, Tika treatises aligned with original copies approved by Sixth Buddhist Synod

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture stated that it will publish Atthakatha and Tika treatises of Tri Pitaka treatises aligned with original copies approved by the Sixth Buddhist Synod.
The original copies were published in lead letter typing, and newly-published copies will be computerized typing.
In such doing, a total of 51 books of Atthakatha treatises and 18 books of Tika treatises through computerized composing will be published. Film copies of metal typesetting for Atthakatha treatises were damaged in Storm Nargis, and so, it was a failure to print more books for many years. Currently, new copies of treatises aligned with the copies of the Sixth Buddhist Synod will be published in accord with the advice of venerable member Sayadaws of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee.
With regard to the work process, the ministry will seek the supervision of members of the Sangha from Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centres, Sayadaws from State Pariyatti Sasana Universities in Yangon and Mandalay and those from International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University in editing the copies. — TWA/TTA
