Plans underway for Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn chairs the coordination meeting for Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan.

The Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan Organizing Committee and subcommittees held a coordination meeting on Friday at the Ministry of Information.
At the meeting, Chairman of Organizing Committee Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said 20 decisions were made at the 1st committee meeting held on 15 March.
This year, the event will present entertainment programmes with Korean K-Pop artistes and famous artistes, in addition to one pavilion of the Russian Embassy, and the Myanmar-China Friendship Association will also participate in it. The Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan aims to bring happiness to government employees and the people. Moreover, it is a signal to the unity of ministries and staff, as well as the people and the government.
He then called for the active participation of people and departmental staff in celebrating the Thingyan Festival.
Then, Committee Vice-Chair Nay Pyi Taw Mayor U Than Tun Oo, secretary of the committee Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint and project director of Brilliant Aura Co Ltd, Coordinator for the Walking Thingyan MRTV Deputy Director-General U Myo Myint Aung and relevant departmental officials discussed the preparations, designated locations for pavilions, security measures, access to water, electricity, regulatory matters, group dances and healthcare services.
