Plastic cleanup underway at Kyaukpyu Beach

Cleanup of marine plastic is being planned according to the waste management plan at Kyaukpyu Beach, Kyaukpyu Township, Rakhine State, said Kyaukpyu District Environmental Conservation Department District Head U Hlwan Moe Htet.
According to the waste management work plan of the Department of Environmental Conservation, cleaning operations are being carried out to remove plastic from the sea at three locations along the sea coast from near the entrance sign of Kyaukpyu to the district highways department chief’s office.
A total of 170 members of social organizations and residents carried out cleaning operations.
Conducting educational lectures in schools and educational videos will be shown, according to the office of the District Environmental Conservation Department. — ASH/KZL
