Postponed XXXI SEA Games to be held in May 2022

The XXXI Vietnam SEA Games, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic, will be held in May 2022, the SEA Games Federation confirmed on 18 October at its meeting.
The meeting was attended by representatives from 11 Southeast Asian countries and officials, and it was confirmed that the postponed Viet Nam SEA Games will be held again in mid-May 2022.
Officials at the Viet Nam Olympic Committee will approve the detailed fixtures of the Games later this month and the game was scheduled to be held in the second week of May.
The XXXI SEA Games, hosted by Vietnam, was originally scheduled to run from 21 November to 2 December but has been postponed to next year due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The XXXI SEA Games will feature 520 events in 40 sports, mainly those played at the Olympic Games.
Myanmar plans to compete in 18 sports and athletes are undergone training in special training camps for the SEA Games. —Ko Nyi Lay/ GNLM
