Precautionary measures underway in villages of Gwa Township

Under the supervision of the Chairman of the Gwa Township National Disaster Management Committee, pre-evacuation activities and relief and rescue operations for villages that may be affected by storms are being carried out in a timely manner in Gwa Township, Rakhine State. Residents in Kywaychai village moved to the Dhamma Datkhina monastery for shelter yesterday afternoon.
Village administrators and social organizations in the village helped relocate 20 households and 30 residents from the Kywaychai village in the Kywaychai village-tract to the monastery, and the Rakhine State Government has stockpiled 500 rice bags, 1,500 visses of edible oil, 500 visses of salt, and 50 visses of fish paste for the displaced people to consume. The Township National Disaster Management Committee already stored 16 items for 18,117 households, and the township social associations are also working to provide support. — Shwe Yee Win Kyaw/CT
