PutaO to Mt Phonkanrazi climbing tour in April for snowy beauty

A mountaineering tour from PutaO to Mt Phonkanrazi is under processing for April when the mountain is at its greatest beauty with the densest snow caps, said Ko Moe Min Thein from the Trekking in Myanmar.
A group tour to Mt Phonkanrazi will be organized from 14 to 19 April, and as the journey will start on 14 April, all participants need to arrive in PutaO by 13 April (Saturday).
“April is the time when the mountain is the most beautiful with the thickest snow caps. Security will be arranged for amateurs like those who want to go on excursions and icy mountain observation travels who are not climbers. Even ordinary girls can join this trip,” he said.
According to the schedule, the group will leave PutaO for Ziyadam village by motorbike on 14 April, continue from Ziyadam village to Chaungsone-Thitpingyi on 15 April, and travel from Thitpingyi camp via Khanthaukmyit camp to the foot of the ice-capped mountain.
On 17 April, they will ascend and descend Mt Phonkanrazi from and to the base camp at the foot of the mountain and, after lunch, go down to Khanthaukmyit camp. On 18 April, they will travel from Khanthaukmyit camp to Ziyadam village and on 19 April, they will return from Ziyadam village to PutaO by motorbike.
Those wishing to take part in the icy mountain climbing trip can register one month or two/three weeks in advance, and a package tour of PutaO-Phonkanrazi-Phonkanrazi-PutaO for five nights and six days will cost K 1.2 million per person. — MT/ZN
