Rakhine State: The western gateway must be developed with peace and stability

Rakhine State, situated at the western gateway of the nation, holds paramount significance for the security and sovereignty of the state itself and the entire nation. The diverse communities residing in Rakhine State, including the Rakhine, Kaman, Khami, Daingnet, Maramagyi, Mro, and Thet, take great pride in their natural positions as guardians of the motherland and its people.
The collective responsibility of all national brethren in Rakhine State lies in fostering solidarity and a spirit of unity to restore peace and stability while emphasizing developmental initiatives. Residents of the state and the Union government share a common vision, striving to harmoniously enhance the well-being of Rakhine State, free from conflicts.
In commemorating the 49th Anniversary of Rakhine State Day on 15 December 2023, the Head of State conveyed felicitations to the people, emphasizing the crucial implementation of political and national visions. The message underscored the need for mutual respect, understanding, and trust among all citizens throughout the Union, fostering a shared future towards the realization of a peaceful, prosperous, modern, and developed democratic nation.
Expectations for affordable commodities and improved development facilities permeate every sector, with a shared commitment to realizing these aspirations. Efforts must be directed towards tasting the fruits of development through dedicated workforces. Residents are encouraged to intensify their contributions to manufacturing, agriculture, and livestock sectors, ensuring a tangible impact on the region’s rapid development.
Despite facing the aftermath of cyclonic storm Mocha, the people of Rakhine State exhibited resilience and determination. The government provided over 73,000 baskets of quality paddy seeds to eight townships, enabling local farmers to surpass cultivation targets, exceeding 3,000 acres of monsoon paddy. It was an excellent example of translating the utmost effort into a satisfactory result. Their unwavering efforts in the face of adversity showcase the resilience of the agricultural sector in overcoming challenges.
The diligence exhibited by the dwellers of Rakhine State, coupled with their ability to translate challenges into developmental opportunities, serves as an inspiring example.
