Regional development projects implemented in Kachin, Shan (North) States

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe met the officials of Cooperative Department, Rural Development Department and Small Scale Industries Department in Kachin State on 18 September and in Shan State (North) yesterday.
During the visits, the Union Minister said the comprehensive rural development programmes are being implemented through cooperation with SMEs to promote the socio-economic status of rural people including infrastructure and cooperative sectors. It needs to work together with the affiliated departments under the same ministry in carrying out the regional development projects. The Rural Development Department should maintain the current momentum in implementing the projects.
The cooperative societies also need to conduct fundraising programmes in line with the law and desire of the members, and the development programmes should be for the grassroots. It needs to report the real situation in a timely manner.
Moreover, it should open the vocational trainings to provide the job opportunities to raise the incomes.
Then, the respective department heads reported on the regional development programmes.—MNA
