Relief materials despatched for Rakhine State disaster relief operations

Relief supplies are loaded onboard the private vessel to transport them to Rakhine State.

Following the guidance of the National Disaster Management Committee, the Transport and Communication Work Committee has planned and supervised the transport of aid and relief materials to Rakhine State. The materials are being transported by boats, planes and vehicles, including MV Charites. MV Charites carried zinc sheets, cement bags, trucks, teak, hollow pipes, purified water, instant noodles, ready-made foods, clothes and household utensils, medicine and rehabilitation items from the Myanmar Terminal (TMT) to Sittway yesterday morning.
A total of 18,511 tonnes of aid and relief materials, 249,762 gallons of diesel and 199,886 gallons of Octane 92 have been delivered to Sittway in Rakhine State from 16 May until today by a total of 14 vessels, including military vessels. — MNA/KZW
