Relief supplies sent to Rakhine State for rescue and relief process in disaster-affected areas

As the transport committee under the National Disaster Management Committee supervises sending of relief supplies to Rakhine State by ship, air and car, MV Mercury Force carrying assistance and relief items left The Myanmar Terminal (TMT) for Sittway Township on 7 October.
The assistance and relief supplies weighing 1,347.03 tonnes of construction materials comprised 504.78 tonnes of iron rods, 40,000 corrugated iron sheets, 28,002 plain sheets, 150 tonnes of lip channel, 26,000 light weight bricks, 80.37 tonnes of timber, 3.88 tonnes of medicines and medications and three vehicles donated by the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and the Ministry of Health.
MV Wirupakkha carried 36,000 bags of rice and 100 tonnes of iron sheets totalling 1,900 tonnes, leaving TMT jetty for Sittway. — MNA/MKKS
