Announcement on Ceasefire and Eternal Peace

1. The Tatmadaw is exerting strenuous efforts into political, economic and social development of the country by adopting five future programmes and the nine objectives with the formation of the State Administration Council.
2. Moreover, as the implementation of eternal peace is necessary for the country, the Tatmadaw has formed peace negotiation committee to continue peacemaking processes with the ethnic armed organizations which have signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement and the remaining potential EAOs who have not signed the NCA.
3. In order to continue peace dialogues of the Tatmadaw Peace Negotiation Committee with NCA-S-EAOs, non-signatories in NCA and completion of peace processes, as well as COVID-19 containment measures, military operations will be suspended from 1 to 31 March 2021, except for the defence and administrative issues, across the country.
4. Therefore, all the relevant organizations and individuals in peacemaking processes are advised to do more works for peace during the period for suspension of military activities and continue more negotiation for eternal peace to be fulfill the aspiration of national people for the prosperity of Union, socioeconomic development and moving forward properly on the democratic way.
