Rice and broken rice export reaches highest in December during nine months of 2021-2024FY

December is a month which reached highest export volume of rice and broken rice throughout nine months of 2023-2024 Financial Year, according to Myanmar Rice Federation’s data released on 3 January.

During 2023-2024FY, rice and broken rice export reached highest with 195,829 metric tonnes in December, earned US$99million, according to MRF.

55 companies exported rice and broken rice in December and of 195,829 metric tonnes, 101,156 metric tonnes was rice export while 94,676 metric tonnes was broken rice export. Of December’s total export, 187,829 metric tonnes were made by overseas trade and 8000 metric tonnes were made through border trade,

In December, the country exported 55,850 metric tonnes of rice to Indonesia which is the highest while 14,840 metric tonnes were exported to China, 13000 metric tonnes were exported to Philippines, 4345metric tonnes were exported to Malaysia, 2650 metric tonnes were expoted to Poland and 10,471 metric tonnes were exported to other 18 countries.

Similarly, of total broken rice export, 22,848 metric tonnes were exported to China, 19,525 metric tonnes  were exported to Belgium, 18,460 metric tonnes were exported to Indonesia, 8300 metric tonnes were exported to Philippines, 7910 metric tonnes were exported to Vietnam and 17,630 metric tonnes were exported to other 9 countries.

Rice and broken rice export declined in June, July and August.
