Rioters arrested with handmade weapons used in riots in Kalay

A total of 18 rioters were arrested with handmade guns, grenades, mines, fire bottles and other related weapons used in riots yesterday in Kalay.
The attackers were reportedly the group leaders of 100 rioters. They attacked the security forces while removing roadblocks on Kyansittha road in Taungzalat ward and Bogyoke road in Tahan ward, Kalay Township, Sagaing Region at about 8 am.
During the attack, the security forces maintained the situation according to riot-control procedures, and the crowd was dispersed at around 1:30 pm.
It is reported that some of the members of the security forces were seriously injured due to the attack and have been under medical treatments at the military station hospital.
Those arrested will be taken effective legal actions, and investigations are underway to capture the rest of the perpetrators as soon as possible.—MNA
