Rioters attack security forces: one killed and one injured

Rioters attacked the vehicle carrying the suspects with homemade guns in Katha Township, Sagaing Township, on 23 April. One member of the security forces was killed, and one was wounded due to the attack.
The incident happened at around 4 pm when members of the security forces were on the way taking Aung Ko Htet, 28, a resident of Aung Zeya Ward. He was arrested under Section 505-A of the Criminal Code to the Katha prison.
The security forces reinforced at the scene and opened fired on the rioters, dispersing the mob at around 5:50 pm.
The suspect was taken to the Katha prison.
Security forces are reportedly working to identify and arrest those involved in the violence and take effective action under the law. — MNA
