SAC Chairman PM Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays homage to Shwemokehtaw Maha Pagoda in Pathein

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by SAC members, Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, South-West Command Commander Brig-Gen Kyi Khine and other officials, paid homage to Shwemokehtaw Maha Pagoda in Pathein Township yesterday evening.
First, the Senior General and party were welcomed by the pagoda board of trustees. Then, they paid homage to the pagoda and offered flowers, water and oil lights to the pagoda. The Senior General presented cash donations for the all-round renovation of the pagoda and members of pagoda board of trustees gave Dhamma-related gifts in return.
Afterwards, the Senior General and party went round the pagoda by anti-clockwise procession. The Senior General also gave directives to responsible personnel to maintain all the other pagodas in Pathein Township in addition to Shwemokehtaw Pagoda in order that they are pleasant and beautiful. — MNA/KTZH
