A ceremony to launch a Variety Show to mark the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day for 2023 with the aim of enabling the people to have pleasure and enjoy the essence of independence took place at the open-air theatre of the Nay Pyi Taw City Hall yesterday evening, attended by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.
Also present at the show were the council secretary and wife, the joint secretary and wife, council members and their wives, Union level officials and their wives, Union ministers and their wives, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, deputy ministers and their wives, departmental heads, officers and staff and families of ministries and departments and people.
At 6:30 pm, the Senior General and his wife arrived at the theatre where they were welcomed by officials.
Artistes from the Myanmar Theatrical Association, famous vocalists, artistes from the film, theatrical and music arenas presented songs.
Then, artistes from Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, Myanmar Comedian Association, Myanmar Theatrical Association, veteran film actresses and famous vocalists performed in comedian talent contests, songs, dramas and theatrical performances.
The Senior General and his wife presented the flower basket and cash awards to the artistes who entertained performances and cordially greeted them.
It was the grandest variety show at the national level held for the first time to enable the people to enjoy the pleasure and essence of independence. State service personnel and artistes showed off their goodwill by entertaining performances for the State and the people. The show which lasts from 26 to 30 November will be staged from 6:30 pm to 11 pm. — MNA
