As a gesture of hailing Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, the Inter-State/Region (Invitation) Sepak Takraw Men’s third-place and championship events were held by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs at 9 am in Wunna Theidhi Stadium 2, Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
SAC members Daw Aye Nu Sein, Jeng Phang Naw Taung and U Shwe Kyein, Union ministers, deputy ministers and responsible persons from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, officials from the Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation and sports fans watched the matches.
The Rakhine State team defeated the Yangon Region team for third place and the Mandalay Region team beat the Sagaing Region team for first prize.
The SAC members and Union ministers presented the trophy, medals and cash awards to the winning teams respectively.
In the afternoon, the SAC Chairman’s Cup Inter-State/Region (Invitation) U-25 Athletics awarding ceremony was also held at Wunna Theikdhi Stadium. SAC members and Union ministers presented the championship awards to the Mandalay Region team. — MNA/UTS
