SAC member joins 86th Kayin New Year Day in Myaungmya

SAC member Mahn Nyein Maung cuts the ribbon to open “Htoochin Phoosan Myaseinyaung Showroom” in Myaungmya on Kayin New Year Day, yesterday.

The 86th Kayin National New Year’s Day (Kayin Era 2763) flag-raising ceremony was held at Myaseinyaung Mountain in Myaungmya Township, Ayeyawady Region, at 5 am yesterday.
State Administration Council member Mahn Nyein Maung opened the ceremony by playing the Kayin traditional frog drum, and the chairman of the Kayin Ethnic Literature and Culture Association raised the Kayin national flag by singing. Next, they saluted the flags of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Kayin national flag.
The State Administration Council member greeted the guests and enjoyed the Kayin national dances.
Afterwards, the SAC member and officials attended and opened the “Htoochin Phoosan Myaseinyaung Showroom” with a ceremony on the Myaseinyaung Mountain. During the ceremony, they looked around the utensils, including silverware, brassware accessories, and antiquities.
They also attended the ceremony to open new roads within the Myaseinyaung religious area.
The newly opened road has a total length of two miles and 4.22 furlongs, and during two years, donors contributed to the construction.
The 86th Kayin National New Year’s Day (Kayin Era 2763) ceremony was then held at the Myaseinyaung Mountain, Myaungmya Township, Ayeyawady Region, joined by State Administration Council member Mahn Nyein Maung and officials.
SAC Member Mahn Nyein Maung opened the ceremony by playing the Kayin traditional drum, followed by the Kayin national dances. He then read a message sent by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing for the Kayin National Day.
At the event, the Kayin State chief minister said that his region is striving to achieve the two national visions of the State Administration Council, namely the country’s prosperity and food security, and is working to make the region a model agricultural region.
The commander of the South-west Command also gave a speech of greetings for the New Year, saying that everyone should work together in a friendly manner to ensure the success of the region’s agricultural and livestock industries.
Ngu-aing Sayadaw Bhaddanta Setthila and Catholic Priest Father Wilfred Mahn Myint Soe then delivered New Year greetings and prayed for the well-being of all.
The Kayin New Year message sent by the Union minister for Ethnic Affairs was also read by the Ethnic Affairs minister for the Ayeyawady Region government. — MNA/KZL
