SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win visits fish and shrimp (1000-tonne) cold storage of Pyae Phyo Tun Int’l Co Ltd, pays homage to Atularanthi Shwethalyaung reclining Buddha image on Pahtet Hill

Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win inspected the fish and shrimp (1000-tonne) cold storage of Pyae Phyo Tun International Company Limited in Kyunsu Township yesterday morning.
The Vice-Senior General and party viewed the packaging process of fish and shrimp in the good aquaculture practices-GAqP displayed at the cold storage.
Managing Director U Hla Than of the cold storage reported on works of the company, breeding of seawater shrimps and production of cold storage products, and Managing Director U Soe Win of Myeik Corporation Public Co Ltd on matters related to the first-ever international fish auction market and industrial zone project in Myeik in accord with the guidance of the Prime Minister. The Vice-Senior General asked for further information and fulfilled the requirements.
They also viewed around the self-reliant dockyard and fish and shrimp lakes of the company.

The cold storage was built on Pahtaw-Pahtet Island near Myeik in order to export marine products as value-added products, minimize marine raw materials, increase earnings of foreign exchange, raise job opportunities in the region, develop human resources, pay the increased amount of tax to the State year after year and enable ethnic people for possessing safety life with the improvement of education, health and social measures. Its construction started in 1998 and was completed in 2000. The cold storage manages the purchase of quality marine products from some 1,800 fishing trawlers of the Myeik region, systematic packaging, making frozen blocks and storage. It sends marine products to Japan, the US, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Viet Nam and Thailand in line with the orders through GAqP. Annually, it exports some 1,000 tonnes of seawater fish, about 600 tonnes of shrimps and about 290 tonnes of soft crabs to foreign countries and dutifully pays taxes at relevant rates to the State.
The Vice-Senior General paid homage to Atularanthi Shwethalyaung reclining Buddha image on Pahtet Hill and made cash donations to the fund of the pagoda. A pagoda photo was returned to him as a gift of Dhamma. — MNA
