The police task force is seen investigating the crime scene after the robbery at Hla Thida Gold Shop in Mayangon Township, Yangon Region.

The township administration bodies will give training on the safety of gold shops in Yangon, announced the Yangon Region Gold Entrepreneurs Association (YGEA).
The executive committee meeting of YGEA was organized on the morning of 10 January, and the following decisions were made at the meeting — to work together to restore the market, to instruct gold retailers about security issues from the township administration body and for the members to attend the ceremony to hoist golden umbrella atop the Sule Pagoda on coming 17 January.
Gold shop owners who are concerned about the security of gold shops may undergo the training provided by the respective township administration body at 9 am on 17 January, a YGEA official said at the meeting. Gold shops in Yangon and Mandalay are more cautious than ever due to frequent robbery cases.
In addition, YGEA is continuously providing training sessions related to gold, the gold market and anti-money laundering. — TWA/CT
