Upgrading the stadiums must consider the possible number of spectators, and these must be standardized stadiums and gymnasiums in conformity with the current situation, he added. The Senior General noted that it is necessary to systematically calculate the area of land plots allotted for the construction of the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Pathein).
The Senior General pointed out that stadiums and gymnasiums must meet the set standards to contribute to the improvement of the sports’ standard whereas the capacity of coaches must be enhanced.
The Senior General viewed round Koethein Stadium and Kyauktaing Stadium. He also inspected the standardized swimming pool in Pathein and left instructions on the construction of the standard stands with resilience to natural disasters.
On arrival at Pathein water supply station, the Senior General urged officials to raise public awareness of the efficient use of water and grow trees along the banks of Ngawun River near the water treatment plant to reduce silting process.
