Senior officer trainees to strive for broadening their horizons to have political, economic, administrative and defence outlooks as the vision of the National Defence College in their practical fields: Senior General

The National Defence College is important for the State and the Tatmadaw, giving lectures to trainees for having the skills to consider the national cause based on political, economic, administration and defence outlooks in order to adopt the correct and precise decisions with correct concepts and to know the actual situation of the country with correct perception, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in the videoconferencing with senior officer instructors and senior officer trainees from the NDC yesterday morning.

Myanmar has possessed sovereignty, firm territorial land and waters and a strong history.

Speaking at the videoconferencing, the Senior General said that as those trainees are discharging not only the defence duty but administrative functions, they need to have four correct outlooks. The training is conducted for trainees with the purpose of serving the national cause with good perception but doing politics.
The Senior General emphasized the measures of Myanmar’s political history and current Myanmar politics. Trainees have to know the correct political history of Myanmar. In history, Myanmar has possessed sovereignty, firm territorial land and waters and a strong history.
The Senior General stressed the terms of successive governments from 1948 to date, approval of constitutions in 1947, 1974 and 2008, ethnic armed conflicts, paving of the Tatmadaw government for the path of multiparty democracy, political, economic, administration and defence histories of the State.
For the political outlook, the Senior General noted that the election is the lifeblood of democracy. Elected representatives must directly or indirectly elect the president and those to serve the executive, judicial and legislative duties. So, the elected representatives must correctly represent the people.

… as those trainees are discharging not only the defence duty but administrative functions, they need to have four correct outlooks. The training is conducted for trainees with the purpose of serving the national cause with good perception but doing politics.

In the economic outlook, the economic outlook is interrelated with the political outlook. So, if efforts can be made for economic growth, a peaceful and prosperous country will be built. Only when the economy booms will the people have a higher living standard. In the democratization process chosen by the people, the country will require well-versed human resources.
The State Administration Council is emphasizing two national processes as the prosperity of the State and food sufficiency and two political processes as strengthening the genuine, disciplined multiparty democracy and building the Union based on democracy and federalism. Hence, it is necessary to implement the Union country exercising federalism for sharing equal power and rights with the ethnic people residing in the Union.
In conclusion, the Senior General urged senior officer trainees to strive for broadening their horizons to have political, economic, administrative and defence outlooks as the vision of the National Defence College in their practical fields. — MNA
