Shan United’s winning streak continues to top MNL competition

The first day of the Week 16 match of the Myanmar National League 2022 continued yesterday at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, and Shan United beat Ayeyawady United by 2-1. At the top of the table, the Shan United team went on to win the championship without making any mistakes and were able to get full points. Team Ayeyawady tried to get points in this match, but they lost both rounds and lost their chance to enter the top three teams.
The Ayeyawady team played in this match with most of their core players, while the Shan United team included a full range of local stars, including foreign striker Sunday Mathew. Shan United played an open attack from the start of the game, while the Ayeyawady played the best response. In the 20th minute, Shan United took the lead as striker Sunday Mathew scored a header.
After that, the Ayeyawady tried to equalize, but failed to score until the end of the first half, and equalized in the 57th minute. Striker Yang Kyaw Htwe scored an equalizing goal for the Ayeyawady team. With the goal conceded, the Shan United team changed players and attacked high to get their winning goal. Substitute Zin Min Tun scored the winning goal for Shan United from a corner kick in the 70th minute. Near the end of the match, the Ayeyawady team had a chance to equalize, but Yang Kyaw Htwe could not use it, and the opportunity ended. After this match, Shan United scored 37 points in 14 games while the Ayeyawady team scored 23 points in 14 games.
