Some 30,000 Myanmar workers to join S Korea’s labour force

Around 30,000 Myanmar workers will be employed from South Korea in October, according to overseas employment agencies.
It is also known that more than 28,000 workers will be recruited in three batches from among those who have passed the 14th EPS-Topik exam.
It is planned to call up 20,919 workers for the manufacturing industry from 19 to 27 October as the first batch, and 5,609 workers will be listed to be recruited between 30 October and 3 November for agriculture and livestock industries as the second batch.
In addition, 1,431 Myanmar workers will also be employed in the construction industry as the third batch from 30 October to 3 November.
South Korea is recruiting more Myanmar workers for the manufacturing, agriculture, livestock, and construction industries within their country, according to overseas employment agencies. — TWA/CT
