A stage with Myanmar traditional Kanote design and electronic music will be used in Yangon New Year Countdown, said an official from Stage Design by Art of Nature.

Yangon New Year Countdown will be held at Thuwanabumi Event Park in Yangon from 30 to 31 December and the stage used has a combination of electronic music and Myanmar culture.

“The main thing is Kanote (design with convoluted lotus stems). There are many kinds of Kanote – in Thailand, in China. Each country has its own tradition. But what we took is Myanmar Kanote. We aim to show to the public,” she said.

Local and foreign musicians will entertain at Yangon New Year Countdown

“Most comers will be young people. Normally, they are not interested. If we show by combining Kanote, they will notice it. The main point is to show Myanmar traditional culture. It is quite difficult to see these two things together,” she said.
