Successful liver transplant operations continue at No 1 DSGH (1,000-bed)

On the third day of the 5th liver transplant operation at the special care centre of the No 1 Defence Services General Hospital (1,000 bed) in Mingaladon Township, Yangon Region, the procedures continued yesterday.
Patient U Nyan Htun underwent a liver transplant from his wife, Daw Sandar Aung, during the operation. Surgeons harvested the liver from the donor at 8:30 am and transplanted it into the patient at 4 pm, completing the entire procedure in approximately 11 hours.
Both the patient and the donor are reportedly in good health. Professors, medical experts, and nurses are providing attentive care for them in the intensive care unit.
Additionally, responsible officials from Tatmadaw offered comfort and support to the patients throughout the operation.
The two donors and two patients from the previous days are also reportedly doing well. — MNA/NT
